I’m absolutely ecstatic to announce that Sweeney Todd won 2 out of 4 Golden Globe nominations, Johnny Depp for Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical and Sweeney Todd for Best Picture for Comedy/Musical. I’m kind of disappointed that Tim Burton didn’t win Best Director and Helena Bonham Carter lost for Best Actress. This movie definitely deserved awards and I’m so pleased it was acknowledged.
I just wish they can get this writer’s strike over with…these poor writer’s deserve a huge-mungus raise…I mean without them where would the whole media business be?!

My art order finally came (after waiting for about 4+ weeks). It’s part of my mum’s Christmas present to me. The thing I was really waiting for was the Prismacolor 120 Color Pencils pack. It’s utterly breathtaking!

I also received two huge plastic portfolios (they’re so big, I can’t even find a place to put them in my room!), a Prismacolor pencil sharpener, glittering confetti (I have a thing with sparkly stuff), animal buttons, and a whole bunch of other goodies that won’t interest you.

I realized that I love tortilla chips. I mean I LOVE TORTILLA CHIPS! The semi-rough texture, the gorgeous crispy noise it makes when you crunch down on it, the salty-ness that satisfies that craving, and the beautiful toasty color. You must think I’m crazy…I don’t blame you, but I recognized this allure when I was drawing one day. I studied this chip and I understood my fondness for this incredibly delicious edible munchy!

On a different note…

I made a really good pasta salad, which involved caramelizing onions with some bell pepper and cherry tomatoes and spicing it up with rosemary and thyme.
I also made salsa verde corn bread, thinking that if I change up the traditional recipe I might actually like it…nope. Still hate corn bread. But everyone else liked it…
I baked the Strawberry-Rose Water Cobbler with Lemon-Poppy Seed Pastry from Veganomicon. I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy it because it has rosewater in it…I have a thing with rose water. I guess it’s due to the fact that almost all Persian desserts involve having rose water in it, I get sick of consuming it sometimes. Surprisingly, I really liked it a lot! The rose water actually enhanced the flavor of the strawberries.
I had some extra pastry dough left over from the crust so I made a blueberry bowl thing out of it. The strange thing was that everyone else liked blueberry bowl better than the recipe from the book. Weird.

The End.

Thanks for stopping by! Because now I have another super interesting blog to read! I've been listening to the LastFm channel now for about 20 mins whilst reading it!

But now all the photos of food have made me so hungry, I've got to go make me a curry. Your food looks awesome (except the corn bread - i was never a fan either, since being given polenta on a plane journey, and being very ill...!)

Oh my, your cobbler looks so amazing! I have never used (or even tasted) rosewater. I must get on that!
Have fun with your new art supplies!

The strawberry-rose water looks beautiful and very well made (props on crossing the little strips on top), the blueberry bowl looks irresistible!

I think we're opposites - I'm not so crazy about tortilla chips, but I love cornbread!

Awesome animal buttons.

Oh my goodness, I love Prismacolors! They are so superior to plain ole Crayolas (hehe, I'm a colored pencil snob!). Aren't artsy presents the BEST?!

The blueberry bowl is super-cute and yummy-looking.

Oh, and my dog Henry DEFINITELY lays on his back because he wants a tummy rub! If someone'd rub his tummy all day, he'd be in doggie heaven!

The strawberry cobbler looks so good, like something out of a book! I want some! I've never had rose water before. Does it really taste like roses? haha

I LOVE tortilla chips, are you kidding? Mike and I discovered a way to make pita wraps taste like tortillas. Just throw it in the oven! Of course it has no salt, but I suppose ya gotta be good-ish sometimes, no?

All your art items look like fun, especially the confetti. Not so much fun to clean up, though. :-/

Lastly, I am happy the writers are striking. It's sad, but good at the same time. They deserve the raise. Without them, there would be no movies or tv shows. But the big corporations are too stubborn and selfish to be smart or understanding in any way. We'll see, though. Eventually they'll have to give in. Otherwise the entertainment industry will come crashing down.

I loved coming across this! It is a fabulous stream of consciousness. I love MOST of all though the tortilla chips and the "bowl" at the end. That looks really, really tasty!

Thank you for stopping by my blog! I live about 10-15 minutes from Follow Your Heart, depending on traffic. As you can see, it's one of my all-time favorite places, so I'm down to meet you there whenever! :) I love that you found the art in tortilla chips. They do have a certain comforting taste and texture. Your desserts are beautiful, by the way. I'm not sure I would've thought of using rose water with strawberries, but it's a great idea. I think I've only had it in Persian desserts like nut brittles and cookies.
